We want the traditional patterns that have been passed down as Kyo-style dyed washi to take root in today's lifestyles and be enjoyed more closely, so we replaced washi with bleached cotton and launched a brand of household goods. A project that connects dyeing techniques that have been passed down since ancient times to the future.
Katazome is a traditional technique that dates back to the Kamakura period, and even today, gojiru (squeezed soybean juice) is used to fix the color.
Dyeing begins with squeezing soybeans every morning.
